Following the success of Estevao, Chelsea are ready to raid Brazil again, this time for Santos left-back Souza, according to local media.

Since the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital takeover in 2022, the Blues have increasingly looked to bypass European middlemen when it comes to signing talent from across the pond.

Chelsea have repeatedly plundered South America, and they have made a habit of plucking promising youngsters straight from the source rather than waiting for them to make their name in a smaller European league.

Prior to the arrival of Estevao from Palmeiras, success on that front had been limited. Former Santos youngster Angelo Gabriel failed to break into the team and was sold to Al-Nassr.

Deivid Washington, also a Santos graduate, has been sent back to the Brazilian club on loan. Ex-Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos only became a proper first-teamer in the summer after 18 months at sister club Strasbourg.

Chelsea to raid Santos again

Estevao, however, has hit like a bomb at Stamford Bridge. A generational talent, the 18-year-old is quickly emerging as one of the biggest prospects in the Premier League.

According to Portal Times, citing Bolavip Brasil, Chelsea are ready to return to Brazil for another promising youngster in the shape of Santos talent Souza.

A left-back by trade, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut last season and has been rotated in and out of the side. His performances appear to have caught the eye of the Blues, despite Santos' struggles.

There have been rumours that BlueCo could look to acquire a stake in Santos, which would explain why Chelsea have been signing players from the fallen Brazilian giants in recent times.

In addition to Souza, Chelsea have also been linked with Santos winger Robinho Jr, the 17-year-old son of disgraced former Brazil international Robinho, who is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence for his involvement in the gang rape of a woman in 2013.
