'A matter of time' - Antoine Semenyo's coach provides transfer update amid Arsenal and Chelsea interest
Antoine Semenyo’s personal skills coach has admitted “it’s a matter of time” before the Bournemouth forward joins a “big club.”
The Ghana international was linked with a number of top Premier League teams during the 2025 summer transfer window, but a move failed to materialise and he opted to sign a new five-year contract at Bournemouth instead.
However, the 25-year-old has now attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool following an electric start to the new Premier League season, in which he has scored six goals and provided three assists in just seven games.
Erling Haaland (10) is the only player in the English top flight with more goal contributions than Semenyo (9) so far this campaign and reports in Spain speculate that Chelsea are ready to pay as much as €90 million to land the Bournemouth star during the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, renowned X account IndyKaila has claimed that Bournemouth could sell the 25-year-old in January if they receive an offer of around €115m, and Saul Isaksson-Hurst, Semenyo’s personal skills coach, has now fuelled speculation of an imminent big-money transfer.
Antoine Semenyo tipped to complete Champions League transfer
Isaksson-Hurst, who worked with Semenyo during pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, told The Mirror: “He’s unbelievable. He’s a Champions League player and was unlucky not to get a move in the summer, but it’s a matter of time before he goes to a big club. There was interest.
“He’s one of the most electric players in the Premier League at the moment. So there’s no ceiling. If you can dominate the Premier League you can dominate any league. He could play for any of the big clubs and make an impact.”
Isaksson-Hurst added: “I said to him straight away - ‘You should be playing Champions League football’. That’s got to be the initial target.
“How’s he going to do that? You’ve got to be one of the best players at Bournemouth and help them have a really successful season and ideally be one of the highest for goals and assists in your team and in the league which will give you the platform to do that. It’s a natural progression.”
