Man Utd find buyer for Onana as Martinez deal ADVANCES

Ligue 1 side Monaco have taken a keen interest in Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to French media.
The Red Devils are willing to listen to offers for their No.1 as Onana has failed to live up to expectations in his two seasons at the club. His debut campaign at Old Trafford was fraught with mistakes, and after a period of promising solidity, he again showed himself to be unreliable last term.
Man Utd have therefore decided that, while they are not actively looking to force the Cameroon international out, they will try to cash in on him and bring in a replacement if a suitable opportunity arises.
Such an opportunity has become the availability of Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez, with the Argentine likely to leave Birmingham this summer. Indeed, last week, it was claimed that the World Cup winner was even 'waiting' for Man Utd to make their move.
Earlier on Friday, reports emerged that progress is being made in the talks between the Red Devils and Martinez and that club-to-club discussions are expected to materialise in the coming days.
Man Utd find Onana buyer
Due to Man Utd's budgetary situation, signing Martinez will likely hinge on the club's ability to sell Onana. In this regard, they have been handed a massive boost as L'Equipe now reports that Monaco are exploring a potential move for the 29-year-old.
The Principality club have, unlike Man Utd, qualified for the Champions League and are looking to beef up their options. Signing a goalkeeper upgrade was defined a top priority as soon as the season ended, but there has been little progress after David de Gea rejected a move.

This has seen the Ligue 1 side sound a host of alternative targets, such as Chelsea wantaway Djordje Petrovic and even Barcelona outcast Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Onana is the latest name to be considered by Monaco.
There have been no concrete developments regarding Monaco's interest in Onana, but it will be encouraging for Man Utd to learn that the shot-stopper has attractive suitors in Europe after he previously opted not to pursue a move to Saudi Arabia.
