Erik ten Hag will be forced to rethink his transfer agenda in light of the Jadon Sancho row.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the England winger's time at Old Trafford is, for now, coming to an end. The 23-year-old still has not apologised to Ten Hag and, therefore, his path back into the Manchester United first team remains blocked.

While it could prove tough for Man Utd to offload him permanently in January, a loan seems almost inevitable for the winger who is still under contract until 2026.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Man Utd would be prepared to take a big loss on Sancho in the winter in order to get him off the books for good. The report claims that the relationship between Sancho and Ten Hag and the club is 'completely broken.'

As recently reported by German media, Borussia Dortmund are, at this stage, an unlikely but not impossible January destination. 90min even suggests that Sancho is keen to return to the Bundesliga side with which he is still in regular contact via head coach Edin Terzic.

Ten Hag's plans

Either way, this Sancho drama could force Red Devils boss Ten Hag to pull his summer transfer plans forward, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The centre-back department is an important position that Ten Hag seeks to strengthen and it will become even more important should Harry Maguire leave, but the Sancho situation has made it evident that a bolstering of the frontline is a priority.

"United were planning on addressing that area of the pitch next summer," claims the above-mentioned report, "but might be left with little choice but to act early." The Dutch manager will surely look to bring in attacking reinforcements in the winter.

Rather than adding a wide player, he may try to bring in another centre forward to potentially partner Rasmus Hojlund. Benjamin Sesko has recently re-emerged as a target for Ten Hag.
