The Telegraph report that the side have no plans, at present, to spend significant money on that position in the upcoming window.

There are question marks over the future of David de Gea, but it appears that he is about to sign a fresh contract at the club.

The player has endured a poor campaign and has fallen out of favour with some of the Man Utd fans, who believe that the club must try and sign a new goalkeeper.

But the report also details that the Spaniard has agreed to fresh terms and an announcement of his deal will happen in the coming days.

It seems that the club believe that other positions must be prioritised.

Erik ten Hag’s revolution

Erik ten Hag has insisted that his side need to invest in the summer in order to compete for silverware.

The Red Devils enjoyed an improved 2022/23 campaign under manager Ten Hag, but the Dutchman knows they need to bring in more names to the fold.

Speaking to the press following his side's season-ending 2-1 win over Fulham, he said:

"We are in the right direction, but we are not there where we have to be, there's still a long way to go, there's potential in this team and individual players," he explained.

"We showed during the season we made progress, that's a compliment to the players and the coaches, we worked really hard, but we have to make an investment.

"The club knows if you want to play top four, compete for trophies in this tough league then you have to invest otherwise you don't have a chance because other clubs will do."
