Cristiano Ronaldo has again been tipped to transition into acting in Hollywood once he finishes his professional football career.

The Portuguese superstar is one of the most famous and successful footballers of all time with five Ballon d'Or trophies to his name. In 2025, he made more money than any any other athlete in the world with earnings of $260 million.

Remarkably, he is the most followed individual on Instagram, with 677 million followers on the platform.

Ronaldo already apparently has a role in the new Fast and Furious movie, 'Fast Forever', as he met star Vin Diesel months ago, who previously posted on Instagram:

"Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him @cristiano."

Former team-mate Mikael Silvestre reckons its a natural evolution for him.

“I think the sky is the limit for him. Everything that he touches or invests himself in becomes a successful business," the Frenchman told GOAL.

“I think he mentioned becoming an actor a while back when he was at the Dubai awards. He said he would want to become an actor. I think that's his next move. If Vinnie Jones can become an actor, a good-looking guy like Cristiano for sure can do the job.”

Another former Manchester United team-mate, Giuseppe Rossi, who was born in the United States, believes Ronaldo is made for the glamour of Los Angeles and actually put the star's name forward to play a Batman villain one day.

“He’s made for LA, man. He’d be perfect for LA," he previously told OLBG.

"That's an interesting thought. I think he has the aura. He's got the fans. I think it would be an easy transition for him. He likes the spotlight so why not take advantage of it and go into a world that's kind of similar to professional sports and see how it goes.

"I'm very curious to see him as an actor. He would definitely be the villain in something. Let's make him the Joker in the next Batman maybe?”

Ronaldo's venture into the movie business

Ronaldo has already stepped into the movie world as he has established his own production studio alongside 'Kick-Ass' and 'Layer Cake' director and producer Matthew Vaughn.

The studio, UR•MARV, was launched in April of 2025 and is said to be a collaboration between film and sport.

A statement on Ronaldo’s X page read: “Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies; Matthew Vaughn loves sport - and they both love a good story.

“Both have been disruptive champions at their game and will now combine the world of sport and storytelling through the launch of UR•MARV, an independent joint venture film studio embracing innovative technology, with a nod to tradition.

“Through UR•MARV, Ronaldo and Vaughn have financed and produced two action films together and are about to start a third in the same series. They look forward to announcing the first release soon.”

Ronaldo said on the venture: “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business.”

Vaughn added: “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him - he’s a real-life superhero.”
