Lionel Messi is still yet to score a Ligue 1 goal for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Parisians may be top of the table, and seemingly cruising towards reclaiming their crown from Lille, who won the league last season, but their new signing is yet to hit the ground running.

In a front three with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, with Angel Di Maria sometimes playing as well, PSG have a devastating attack, but of the three superstars, only Mbappe has scored an open play goal in the French top flight.

Messi has managed to score three goals in three games in the Champions League, continuing his prowess in that competition, but he's struggled in the league.

Thierry Henry, a former teammate of Messi at Barcelona, has had his say on Messi's form, and what PSG can do to rectify it.

What has Henry said?

Speaking to Prime Video, and cited by Marca, Henry said: "Messi is isolated and isn’t touching the ball so much. I don’t say he is unhappy but he looks isolated.

I prefer him in the middle. I don’t think he can make the difference from the right.

"In the middle, he can provide the rhythm. We have to find a solution for them [Messi, Mbappe and Neymar], they can play together.

"I don’t have the exact tactical data, but I think that he has less impact [out wide]. He participates less often."

With Barcelona's recent financial struggles, Lionel Messi's departure this summer came as little surprise, although the Argentine superstar was the ultimate on-club man until then.

Manchester City was a rumoured destination for Messi once he left the Camp Nou, with his links to Pep Guardiola, but PSG was where he ended up.

With Mbappe, Neymar and Messi forming a front three, goals were expected to fly in; that has not been the case, however, and Mauricio Pochettino in the PSG dugout will be expected to find a solution.
