The pair had already had an argument on the pitch and, at the final whistle, Mane approached Sane to complain about how the ex-City winger had spoken to him. He then, Bild alleges, punched Sane in the face and connected with him on the lip.

This physical altercation took place in the Bayern Munich dressing room at the Etihad, according to information obtained by Sky Germany.

The trigger to this altercation was an incident in the 83rd minute when Sane argued with Mane after the Senegalese didn’t make himself available for a pass - instead waiting for a through ball.

The discussion boiled over in the dressing room and ended with Mane punching Sane in the face, leaving him with a bloody lip.

Both teammates had to be separated by teammates. After landing in Munich from Manchester, Sane was picked up privately while Mane took the team bus from the airport.

Bayern have yet to comment on the reports, as of Wednesday afternoon.

Chaos at Bayern

It has been a chaotic last few weeks at Bayern, with Julian Nagelsmann sacked as manager and replaced with Thomas Tuchel.

Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat in Manchester means that Bayern require a miracle to overturn the result and make it to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

As for Mane, he has been somewhat disappointing this season since his transfer from Liverpool last summer.

Mane has a somewhat disappointing 11 goals and five assists in all competitions from 31 games for Bayern, including only six Bundesliga goals.
