He scored a brace during the game, and was briefly the youngest ever Euros goalscorer before Vonlanthen broke the record.

In fourth place is Renato Sanches. He burst onto the scene at Euro 2016, winning the Young Player of the Tournament award, and played a key role in Portugal’s eventual victory.

Ferenc Bene (Hungary) was 19 years and 183 days old when he netted against Spain at Euro 1964, which is good enough to ensure his spot in seventh place.

Cristian Chivu is eighth after his goal against England at Euro 2000, while Patrick Kluivert is the ninth-youngest goalscorer in Euros history. The Netherlands legend scored at Euro 1996 aged 19 years and 353 days old.
