Lamine Yamal trolls Real Madrid again with 'Thank God I'm Not Madridista' shirt

Lamine Yamal has poked fun again at Real Madrid following Barcelona's La Liga triumph on Sunday.

The Blaugrana won the league after a 2-0 victory at Camp Nou in which Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres found the back of the net in the first half. It was the first time in the history of La Liga that the champions were crowned via a victory in the Clasico.

The defeat for Madrid comes at a time of crisis at the Santiago Bernabeu. So far this century, Los Blancos have endured just five trophyless campaigns in 2004/05, 2005/06, 2009/10, 2020/21 and now in 2025/26.

In addition to losing the league, they suffered the indignity of being knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Segunda side Albacete, while Bayern Munich eliminated them from the Champions League at the quarter-final stage.

There have also been confirmed reports of major infighting in the Madrid squad involving Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras, among others.

A confrontation between Valverde and Tchouameni became serious and physical and the Uruguayan had to be taken to the hospital for stitches after hitting his head off a table in the dressing room. Both players were fined half a million euros.

Madrid are hurting, and Yamal has been rubbing salt in the wounds with his social media activity this week.

First, he wrote "talk is cheap" with laughing emojis on a post on Instagram, in reference to Madrid star Jude Bellingham previously posting that on social media.

Then, during Barcelona's trophy parade in the city on Monday, he posted a picture of himself with a Barcelona kit that had emblazoned on the back, 'THANK GOD I'M NOT MADRIDISTA'.

Speaking to the club's media during the parade, he said:

"It’s incredible. The fans are always with us, on the important days and also on the less important ones. This is the club of our lives. We’ll always be here for them.

“We love them. We have to value every title and every year that we win because it’s not easy. We’ve gone through some very difficult years, but now we’re enjoying ourselves a lot.

“You think it’s a Monday, people in Barcelona have work, but they’re still here with us."

Barcelona haven't won the Champions League in over a decade, but Yamal vowed that the city will enjoy another title parade soon with the Champions League trophy in hand.

"A Champions League parade? Definitely yes," he added.

"My parents taught me that a man always keeps his word… and we’ll bring it back to Barcelona.”

Barca were knocked out of this season's Champions League at the quarter-final stage against league rivals, Atletico Madrid.
