Barcelona are eyeing up a shock move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and fits within the club’s structure for a transfer.

For a long time, Zaha has been linked with moves away from Palace, only for nothing to materialize, but an exit could finally be on the cards come next summer.

The 29-year-old has been a constant for Palace since returning for his second stint in 2014, and has become a club legend, keeping them in the Premier League and helping them challenge for more.

However, Barcelona now see him as a possible target and given that they are looking at more and more free moves that they can make next year.

Barcelona interested in Zaha

The report comes from the Evening Standard, who also add that Crystal Palace are looking to get in an extension for Zaha, but an agreement has not been reached over his contract.

To add to it, Barcelona believe they can provide more competitive terms to Zaha than any other Premier League club and are confident they can make him a better offer to beat off competition.

Zaha would be a valuable addition given his versatility in attack, but if he chooses to join Barcelona, he will face a serious competition for places.

They already have Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and others who can take up positions on the wing and that may hold back an offer from Barcelona.

The Blaugrana have other positions to strengthen and that may be a bigger priority than a winger, but he is still a player the club are keeping an eye on.

To start with, Barcelona still wish to add to their side with another midfielder and a centre-back, and that may push back any need to sign another winger for their stacked squad.
