Barcelona's efforts to unload Memphis Depay have suffered another setback as Juventus turn their attentions away from the Netherlands striker.

Depay, 28, arrived at Camp Nou last summer on a free transfer from Lyon and scored 13 goals for the Catalans in all competitions in his debut season.

It has become clear, however, that following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's arrival from Arsenal and the signing of Robert Lewandowski that there is no room for the ex-Manchester United striker in Xavi's squad.

Memphis was left on the bench for Barca's season opener against Rayo last week and the club are actively trying to dispense with his services, be it through a sale or even terminating his contract.

But the player will not leave until he has an interested club lined up, and while Juve appeared a viable option the Italians' interest seems to have cooled.

Could Depay miss out on Juve switch?

Reports in Italy suggest that the Bianconeri have instead cast their eye on Marseille's Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik.

The 28-year-old has Serie A experience after playing for Napoli and has been offered to the Italian giants by his current employers after 18 months with the club.

Negotiations over Depay, meanwhile, have reached an impasse, with Barca and Juventus yet to agree the terms of his contract termination.

There is still hope for the Dutchman, though, with talks expected to continue; while Milik will not be straightforward either as Marseille hold out for a permanent sale rather than a loan deal.

Depay is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Juve, and so can only wait while the two clubs thrash out the terms of his exit from Camp Nou.
