Bayern Munich have confirmed that Ryan Gravenberch will remain at the club and that a January exit will not be possible for the midfielder.

The Dutchman joined the German champions in the summer from Ajax but game time has been limited for him, which has proven to be a source of frustration for the midfielder.

As a result, Gravenberch wasn’t selected for the Netherlands side that travelled to Qatar for the World Cup which was something that provided further annoyance.

Now, despite interest in him from clubs such as Liverpool, it’s clear that Bayern want the player to stay at the club for the course of the season.

Bayern adamant on keeping Gravenberch

It’s reported by Sky Germany that internally, Bayern Munich bosses still believe in the player’s talent and think his potential will be reached while he is with them.

Julian Nagelsmann hasn’t been using Gravenberch regularly in his team but there is a feeling he will require him in the second half of the season as they fight on all fronts.

Liverpool were eager to bring him over to Anfield to improve their own midfield options with the Reds struggling in that area so far this campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have had a problem in that position due to form, inconsistency and age and that has been a factor in their slump in first half of the season.

They’ve been interested in several midfielders but are reluctant to spend big and were hoping a loan deal for Gravenberch would suffice to help them in the second half of the campaign.

Other than them, there was also reportedly interest from Manchester United with the player having the chance to reunite with former boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, having previously worked together at Ajax.

How the second half of the season shapes up for Gravenberch remains to be seen but it’s clear he wants to play more and reinvigorate his career at Bayern Munich.
