Under new manager Julian Nagelsmann, the Bundesliga giants are set to embark on a mission to rejuvenate a team that have struggled to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for two successive years.

Due to the fact that Bayern not only have Manuel Neuer between the sticks as well as Alexander Nubel on the books, the club have not been linked with any new goalkeepers in recent months.

What defenders could transfer to Bayern this summer?

Nordi Mukiele

The RB Leizpig defender is a target for many of Europe's top clubs and Bayern are unsurprisingly involved given he currently plays in the Bundesliga.

Foot Mercato have reported Bayern's interest in the Frenchman, with right-back a clear priority for the Bavarians. Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are all in for him as well following an impressive stint at Leipzig.

At 24 years old, he's arguably the perfect age profile for Bayern.

Jeremie Frimpong

Bayern’s hunt for a new right wing-back has reportedly led them to Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong, who has performed admirably since making the move from Celtic. The young Dutch defender would certainly prove to be an exciting addition on the right flank.

Noussair Mazraoui

Another full-back that Bayern have been heavily linked with is Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax, who now looks certain to join the club on a free transfer when his contract with the Dutch giants expires at the end of the season.

Ryan Gravenberch

Another Ajax star that looks set for a move to Bayern this summer is none other than 19-year-old talent Ryan Gravenberch, who has reportedly agreed terms with the club and should make the move as part of a deal which could cost the club around €25 million.

Florian Neuhaus

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus has been linked with a move to Bayern for at least the past two seasons, but this summer could finally see the Germany international make a move to Munich before his contract with the Foals expires in 2023.

Konrad Laimer

Just like with Mukiele, Julian Nagelsmann is keen to be reunited with Konrad Laimer. The pair worked together at Leizpig, and it's understood that Laimer is very likely to join Bayern this window.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Bayern have prepared their opening offer of between €18-20m to entice Leipzig into selling their midfielder.

With Corentin Tolisso leaving, it's appropriate that Bayern are targeting central midfield as a priority position.

Frenkie de Jong

While he's being heavily targeted by Man Utd, Frenkie de Jong has also reportedly been in talks with Bayern for several months too.

Foot Mercato believe that the Dutchman remains on Bayern's radar amid his uncertain Barcelona future. The Bavarians will be able to offer Champions League football, which could swing things their way in negotiations.

After discussions failed with Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland, Bayern have turned their attention to Ajax forward Sebastian Haller following an electric campaign in the Eredivisie and Champions League.

Robert Lewandowski seems likely to leave this summer, and Bayern are ready to rival Borussia Dortmund to sign the former Eintracht Frankfurt star. Haller has netted 34 goals in all competitions this season.

Sadio Mane

With his Liverpool contract set to expire in 2023, Sadio Mane has been heavily linked with Bayern, with the possibility of a swap deal with Serge Gnabry even touted.

The Senegal international has blossomed into a false nine in 2022, and remains a key facet in Jurgen Klopp's side, so it despite reports suggesting he will leave it does seem unlikely. Sky Germany have reported that Mane's agent has met with Bayern, however, so a deal could yet be struck.
