Man Utd flop receives offer from Premier League rivals

Manchester United flop Sofyan Amrabat could stay in the Premier League next season.

According to The Sun, the on-loan Fiorentina-owned midfielder has strong interest from both Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Other sources report that Palace have already compiled an offer for the Morocco international, with Amrabat apparently impressing the club’s decision-makers during the 4-0 defeat by Palace this month.

Fulham are also considering making a move as a replacement for Joao Palhinga, who is likely to leave this summer.

Amrabat at Man Utd

United paid €9 million last summer to sign Amrabat on loan for the season from Fiorentina.

The Red Devils have the option to make the deal permanent for €25m at the end of the campaign.

However, United have opted against activating that option as the 27-year-old has performed very badly. He will return to Fiorentina, who will immediately look to sell him on.

After recovering from injury upon joining Man Utd, Amrabat struggled to get going.

Initially he was played out of position at left-back by Erik ten Hag amidst an injury crisis in the position.

But the Moroccan has since also laboured since being moved to his preferred position at central midfield.

He has since fallen well down the pecking order, although Amrabat has still occasionally used him at left-back.

The Moroccan established himself as one of Europe’s most admired central midfielders at Fiorentina last season, with Barcelona and Chelsea also trying to sign him during the January transfer window of 2023.

Amrabat was also arguably the best midfielder at World Cup 2022, playing a crucial role for a Morocco team that stunned everyone in reaching the quarter-finals

Palace and Fulham believe there is still a top player there in Amrabat and want to sign him for that reason.
