Viktor Gyokeres debut for Arsenal REVEALED
Arsenal plan to get Viktor Gyokeres' signing officially completed before they head on tour to Asia.
The Athletic has confirmed FootballTransfers' earlier exclusive that Arsenal want the deal done before they fly out to Hong Kong and Singapore for their summer tour.
The Athletic reports that Arsenal plan to make the deal official before they depart for Singapore on Saturday 19 July.
When will Gyokeres make his Arsenal debut?
Arsenal play AC Milan at the National Stadium in Singapore on July 23 with the idea being that Gyokeres can make his uncompetitive debut for the Gunners against the European giants.
Arsenal then play Newcastle at the same place on July 27 before travelling to Kai Tak Stadium on July 31 to play Tottenham. So if he is not signed in time for the Milan match, then it is possible he could debut against Newcastle or Tottenham instead.
Gyokeres' competitive debut is likely to take place on the opening day of the Premier League season on 17 August when Arsenal play Man Utd at Old Trafford.
The striker will play against his former Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim, now coach of Man Utd.
Arsenal have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon to sign Gyokeres for €63.5 million as a fixed fee, with €10m in add-ons.
All that is remaining to complete the agreement is to decide how these add-ons are reached.
Arsenal have been in negotiations to sign Gyokeres for several weeks but until now had not been able to agree on a transfer fee amidst a public war between the player and his club Sporting Lisbon.
The war has been ongoing all summer between the player’s entourage and his club over his asking price.
Gyokeres’ agents claimed that Sporting broke a promise to sell him for around €60m plus €10m in bonuses, while Sporting denied a promise was ever made.
This led to Gyokeres refusing to turn up to pre-season training in a bid to force a move through to Arsenal.

Arsenal and Gyokeres have already agreed on a contract until 2030, with salary and terms all settled upon.
Gyokeres is the hottest striking property around right now after having an incredible season, scoring 54 goals in 52 games in all competitions, and leading Sporting to another league title.
This follows on from his brilliant form from last season for Sporting where he scored 43 goals in all competitions for his club.
