OFFICIAL: Tottenham confirm signing of Mathys Tel

Tottenham have announced the permanent signing of Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel.
Spurs confirmed in a statement on Sunday morning that Tel has signed a contract at the club until 2031.
The Frenchman spent the second half of the bygone campaign on loan at Spurs and showed some glimpses of promise. In 20 appearances, Tel notched three goals and an assist.
Despite his eminent potential, these numbers were unsurprisingly not enough to convince Tottenham to exercise their whopping €60 million purchase option after already paying a €10m loan fee as well as his full salary.
The North London club did want to keep the 20-year-old, however, so they opened formal talks with Bayern Munich over a potential reduction of the money required to make his stay permanent.
The Europa League winners managed to successfully convince Bayern to lower their demands and the deal is now official.
Tottenham sign Tel
"We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from FC Bayern," a statement on Tottenham's website said.
"Mathys joined the Club from the Bundesliga side in February on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent. We can confirm we have agreed a deal with Bayern that will see the France Under-21 international sign a contract that will run until 2031 when his current loan deal ends on 30 June."
Tottenham and Bayern are believed to have agreed a €35m transfer fee for Tel.
New Spurs boss Thomas Frank approved the permanent signing of the France youth international, who becomes the Dane's first official signing in his new role.

Tel is unlikely to be Tottenham's only attacking signing this summer, with Frank reportedly also pushing for his new side to sign his former Brentford star Yoane Wissa.
