Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Some big deals happened earlier than usual due to the Club World Cup and the deadline for participation in that tournament is now over, though the window remains open.

The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
  • Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

FOUR Premier League sides in for Rodrygo

It is looking increasingly likely that Rodrygo will leave Real Madrid this summer after he failed to make it off the bench in the match against Pachuca in the Club World Cup.

The Brazilian is reportedly unsettled in the Spanish capital, feeling marginalised after the signing of Kylian Mbappe last summer.

Arsenal have long been linked with Rodrygo, but Cadena Sar reports that Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are all in the mix as well.

He is set to cost around €90 million.

Xabi Alonso comments on Rodrygo status

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has explained why Rodrygo didn't even make it off the bench against Pachuca in the Club World Cup earlier this week.

“I see Rodrygo in good shape. He was on the bench for a technical decision," the Spaniard told reporters.

“He’s still important, and we’ll need him at the Club World Cup. He’s a special player and will play a key role."

Rodrygo has been strongly linked with a move away from Los Blancos, with Arsenal monitoring his status at the Santiagi Bernabeu.

Ederson definitely staying at City

Man City stopper Ederson has denied reports that he could be set for a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

"My future is here," said the Brazilian. "Some friends send me a lot of news but 99% is fake news. I understand you guys.

"You need the news to put a like on social media, or rant for the news. I understand but there's a lot of fake news around my name.  My head is here. It stays with City. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well. My mind is staying in the club."

PLENTY of clubs in for Ter Stegen

It is looking increasingly likely that Marc-Andre ter Stegen will leave Barcelona this summer after the club signed Joan Garcia from Espanyol.

Barca are keen to get the German's high wages off the salary bill and have reportedly told him to find a new club.

According to Sport, Chelsea, Man City, Leverkusen, Galatasaray and Milan are all interested, but his wages could prove a stumbling block.
