As always, Premier League teams have spent heavily so far.

Manchester United have signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to revamp their attack, with Manchester City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Chelsea have signed Liam Delap, Estevao, Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, among others.

Arsenal have been very busy, too, bringing in Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Cristhian Mosquera.

The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen, while they also brought in Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong from the Bundesliga. Luis Diaz went in the other direction, signing for German giants Bayern Munich.

The transfer saga of the summer involves Alexander Isak, who is attempting to force through a departure from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Still no bids for Rodrygo

Real Madrid are yet to receive any official bids for Rodrygo.

Rumours surrounding a potential Madrid exit for the Brazilian have been rampant this summer as he is apparently unhappy with his role at the club due to the abundance of attacking talent Xabi Alonso has at his disposal.

Real Madrid stop Spurs signing Nico Paz

Real Madrid have stopped Tottenham signing Nico Paz from Como, reports Fabrizio Romano.

"Real Madrid had big role in stopping Nico Páz proposal worth €70m from Tottenham," the transfer expert wrote on X.

"Real are happy with Páz staying at Como this season but his move to Madrid in summer 2026 is increasingly likely. He’s expected to join Real next season."

Madrid reportedly can get Paz back due to €10m buy-back clause.

Sancho happy to sit and not play at United?

It seems Jadon Sancho is happy to sit on his exorbitant wages at Man Utd despite not playing under Ruben Amorim.

Roma transfer chief Frederic Massara was scathing of the player’s attitude regarding a transfer to the Serie A giants that didn't materialise.

“Sancho is a strong player, who was linked with all the Italian clubs,” Massara told SportMediaset.

“At the moment, a move is only a suggestion because it doesn't seem as if there are the right conditions and above all, the motivation to carry on these negotiations.”

He is paid around €300,000 (£250,000) per week at Old Trafford.

Hincapie set to leave Leverkusen

Piero Hincapie broke down in tears following Leverkusen's 2-1 loss to Hoffenheim at the weekend as it will likely be his final game for the club.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Deutschland reports on X: “Piero Hincapie has decided to leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen if a suitable offer arrives. The decision has been made.

“Hincapie has a release clause in his contract, as exclusively revealed, worth €60 million. Leverkusen still want to keep their 23-year-old top centre-back.”

Amorim comments on wantaway foursome

In his Friday press conference, Ruben Amorim was asked about Antony, Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho, all of whom are unwanted at Old Trafford.

He said:

"I know it's not a good thing to have players in this situation, but it's clear that they want to play in a different club."
