‘Memphis here we go!’ – Man Utd fans react to Liverpool’s Gakpo deal

Manchester United are set to be beaten to the transfer of Cody Gakpo by Liverpool.
The Red Devils had long been associated with a move for the Netherlands international winger, yet it is the Anfield club that has reached an agreement for the player.
Reports in England suggested that the up front cost of the transfer will be around €42 million, though these are countered by Dutch reports that state this part of the fee is €50m.
Nevertheless, the announcement has sent shockwaves through the Old Trafford support, which was under the impression that Gakpo would arrive during the January transfer window.
Unsurprisingly, it is another blow to the credibility of owners, the Glazer brothers, who have been accused of lacking direction in their transfer dealings.
