Arsenal to sign Cristhian Mosquera THIS WEEK
Henry Winter reports that Arsenal will complete the signing of Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera this week.
Winter claims that the Gunners will officially sign both Mosquera and Noni Madueke in what will be a very busy week for the Premier League side.
"Should be a good week for Arsenal. Madueke and Mosquera in. Gyokeres fee virtually agreed, just at the add-on debating stage, plus dealing with agent’s substantial cut (and Arsenal being strong on that point)," Winter said on X.
"Gyokeres obviously very keen to go to Arsenal (and will need a contrite farewell letter to Sporting). Maybe needs to have another word with his agent - get the deal done. Also busy week on potential outgoings, generating income from Kiwior, Nelson, Trossard, Vieira, Zinchenko."
Mosquera to join Arsenal
Nicolo Schira confirmed Winter's news on Sunday morning, reporting that the defender already has an agreement in principle with the Gunners for a contract until 2030.
Schira says that talks are in progress between the two clubs to try to reach a deal.
Fabrizio Romano believes it will cost Arsenal in excess of €20 million to sign Mosquera.
Mosquera has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €13.9m, which is a low figure largely because his contract with Valencia expires in 2026.
The potential of the player is undeniable, though. Over the course of the last two seasons, he has been a regular in Valencia’s defence, missing only three games in La Liga over the course of this period.
He is also the second-best promising centre-back in world football aged 21 or under, according to data analytics firm SciSports. Only a handful of players are thought to have a higher potential ceiling, including Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, a player Arsenal have also been linked with this summer.
