Rangers have learned Mikey Moore’s transfer plans as manager Derek McInnes begged the Ibrox board to act quickly after Friday’s 1-1 draw with Dundee United.

Moore was one of the success stories last season at Ibrox, where he scored seven times in 47 appearances for the Gers on the way to winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.

With Rangers lacking the type of pace and directness that he brings, the 18-year-old had been linked with a switch back to the Glasgow giants this summer.

Mikey Moore’s future revealed

Moore is set to leave Rangers disappointed, with the London Standard indicating that he has his eyes set on a loan switch to one of Europe’s big five leagues. He is also poised to overlook Championship side Middlesbrough as he takes the next step in his development.

While Moore has featured for Tottenham in their pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia, the expectation is that the immediate future of the England U19 star lies away from the North London outfit.

Spurs have been closely linked with a move for a new winger, with Manchester City’s Savinho and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford among the players who could arrive at the club.

Roberto De Zerbi admitted: “We have to analyse the last part of the transfer market, because we try to bring wingers, and then we speak with him, with his agent, with the club, to find the best solution for everyone.”

McInnes demands transfer action

Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Dundee United in the Premiership, meanwhile, left manager McInnes asking for ‘help’ from the board to bring in new players.

“I know the evidence today would suggest we’ve still got loads and loads to do, and I get that, but I do think we have got enough to be encouraged about,” he said at Tannadice.

“But the new signings need to land pretty soon. I need to say that.

“Everybody’s worked hard to get the right players in, and I appreciate the effort that’s been made, but we’ve got important games, important league games, important European games, and we’re just really trying to crank that up to try and get players in the building as quickly as possible.”

Rangers are being linked with alternative options in the wide areas, with the Ibrox side set to battle with Celtic over Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis.

However, before McInnes can get his transfer wish, Rangers may need to conduct several more sales, with Belgium international star Nicolas Raskin among those who could potentially be offloaded.
