Victor Osimhen ‘waiting’ to join

Former Man Utd striker Louis Saha believes that Galatasaray superstar Victor Osimhen would jump at the chance to join the club before the transfer window closes.

“I know for a fact that Victor Osimhen is a Manchester United fan,’ Saha told MrGamble (via Metro). “He loves Man Utd. I have seen it in his eyes, the impact the club has on him, and he sees the impact he could have on this team.

“He is a very confident player. He is like Erling Haaland. He doesn’t need to see the ball very often to score goals. If he is not getting the chances he needs, he will demand them.

“This is the type of player United need to sign. You look at his experience. He has scored 20 goals every season. He has the character, the belief, he works hard and he is unpredictable.

“He can make assists and he would be a good fit for the Premier League, physically. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

“Osimhen can be another player like Bruno Fernandes. He would quickly come to know the club inside and out. All United have to do is make the connection but that’s why it hasn’t happened yet. Osimhen is still waiting.

“United missed out on signing Harry Kane and that was one of their biggest mistakes in the transfer market but they can correct that mistake by signing Osimhen.”

Toby Collyer joins West Brom

Toby Collyer has left Man Utd to join West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal following a loan spell at the club last year.

West Brom have paid an undisclosed fee to sign Collyer and, following his unveiling, he told the club’s website: “There were a few reasons why I was so keen to return. The size of the club is one of them. I also really enjoyed my time here on loan in the first half of last season.

“Another reason was the manager, James Morrison. He was really keen to have me back and that’s all you want in football - a manager who wants you and wants to see you do well.

“As I say, I really enjoyed every second of my loan spell here last season even though I didn’t reach the levels that I wanted to reach. That’s another reason why I wanted to come back here, to show everyone what I’m about and prove to everyone how much of a great player I am.

“I ended up following most of the Albion games in the second part of last season, to be honest. I remember coming back with Hull and getting the runaround.

“Being out on loan makes you grow up. Even though I didn’t have the best loan spells last season, I felt like I grew up and became much more of a man. I felt as though now was the right time to move on and really kick on with my career and I’m glad that I’ll get the chance to do that here.”

Joshua Zirkzee latest

Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a target for Fiorentina and the Serie A side are “doing everything they can” to bring him to the club.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who claim that Zirkzee is open to the move, with Man Utd currently yet to respond to Fiorentina’s opening offer.

Fiorentina are now working on a €5m loan deal, with an obligation to buy for around €30m if certain conditions are met.

Gary Neville makes transfer request

Man Utd legend Gary Neville has urged his former club to sign a new centre-back and a new left-back before the end of Transfer Deadline Day.

“They have got some individually decent defenders, but there isn't a back four there and when it starts to get put under pressure and it starts to pick up a couple of injuries during the season, it will let you down. Michael knows that right now,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“If they could get a centre-back and a full-back before the window closes, that will stop problems that we know we're going to see.

“I'm not saying they've been bad all the time, but you just know full well, in Champions League football, Premier League games, they will have problems and they will have issues. It's not being harsh. Everybody knows it.

“I'm amazed that United haven't added at the back.”

Habeeb Ogunneye departs

Arsenal have officially confirmed the arrival of full-back Habeeb Ogunneye on a permanent deal from Man Utd.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Newport County and he will link up with Arsenal’s academy side for 2026-27.

Upon confirmation of his move, Ogunneye told the Arsenal website: “It feels great to be here, it's such a big club.

“When I heard [Arsenal] were interested in me, I said to my agents it's a no-brainer. Seeing all the young players that are coming through as well, so I just wanted to come straight away.

“I just wanted to be part of that group, and win games together. It's good playing with good players, good defenders; it's only going to better you.”
