Man Utd Transfer News Today: PSG wonderkid emerges as target as 'sizeable' deal confirmed
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Man Utd transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Ibrahim Mbaye, JJ Gabriel and Nicolo Tresoldi.
Man Utd enquire about Mbaye
The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a Parc des Princes exit in recent weeks and it’s understood that he is keen to leave the club before Transfer Deadline Day in search of more regular game time.
PSG are also in advanced talks to sign Ferran Torres (Barcelona) and Mika Godts (Ajax), and the Ligue 1 giants are therefore amenable to selling Mbaye this summer if they receive an offer in excess of €50 million.
This has been confirmed by Spanish outlet AS, who report that Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Man Utd, Porto, RB Leipzig and Roma have all enquired about a possible summer deal for the teenager.
JJ Gabriel wanted by rivals
Gabriel has been touted as one of the highest-rated youngsters to ever come out of United’s academy and the 15-year-old became the youngest ever player to ever represent the club during the friendly against Atletico Madrid earlier this month.
The teenager is eligible to sign scholarship terms when he turns 16 in October and United are hoping to go a step further by putting a pre-contract in place for professional terms that can be penned when Gabriel turns 17.
However, Gabriel is regarded as one of the biggest talents of his age in world football and TEAMtalk claim that Chelsea are Gabriel’s strongest suitors, with the forward able to be poached until he turns professional.
Tresoldi linked with Man Utd move
Man Utd are considering a move for Nicolo Tresoli, with the Club Brugge forward reportedly emerging as a target for multiple clubs this summer.
Tresoldi is thought to have a value of €50m, making the 21-year-old a relatively low cost option in the current inflated market, prompting interest from Tottenham, Roma and Chelsea as well as United.
That is according to CaughtOffside, who claim that United could turn to Tresoldi towards the end of the transfer window once Joshua Zirkzee’s future is resolved.
United are keen to add another forward to their ranks this summer and, with Marcus Rashford looking increasingly likely to remain at Old Trafford, Tresoldi could become a target to provide competition to Benjamin Sesko up front instead of signing a left-sided attacker.
Man Utd make ‘sizeable’ sale
Manchester United have sold academy forward Ethan Williams to Peterborough United in a ‘sizeable’ deal.
All the best to Ethan Williams, who has completed a move to League One side Peterborough United.
We wish him every success in his future career ❤️— Manchester United (@ManUtd) August 13, 2026
The 20-year-old moves to the League One side having signed for United’s academy in 2019, although he failed to make a senior appearance for the first team.
The fee is described as ‘sizeable’, according to reporter Nathan Salt, with add-ons and a 50% sell-on clause also present as well as a buy-back and matching rights option.
Williams spent time on loan at League Two side Cheltenham before playing in the Scottish Premiership for Falkirk last season, where he netted once in 23 appearances.
