Mateta pushed to Man Utd

Man Utd have been approached over a potential transfer for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, TEAMtalk claims.

The France international is once again pushing to leave the Eagles, and he has even argued that the final year of his contract should be voided after Palace took up an option to extend his deal.

His representatives are scouring the market for options, with Man Utd among the clubs that have been offered the chance to sign him. However, it is thought that they will only reignite their interest if either Joshua Zirkzee or Marcus Rashford leaves.

Wheatley loaned, not sold

Man Utd striker Ethan Wheatley will spend the season on loan at Lincoln City.

The Championship side have won the race to sign the 20-year-old, and the deal is believed to be a straight loan with no permanent element attached, Sky Sports reports. Wheatley will return to Man Utd next summer.

This wasn't always guaranteed as the young forward has also fielded Premier League interest this summer, with Everton known to be admirers. A loan to the Championship was ultimately deemed the better option.

Lewis-Skelly optimism

Man Utd remain hopeful that they could convince Arsenal to sell Myles Lewis-Skelly, as per The Sun.

The Gunners academy graduate has started both of Arsenal's first two games of the season, which suggests that Mikel Arteta is firmly planning to keep him. However, Man Utd are still in the market for a left-back.

There is optimism that Arsenal could open the door to a sale, but a transfer seems unlikely at this stage, with Man Utd deeming Lewis-Skelly's €60 million asking price excessive.

Balde deal on?

A more realistic left-back option appears to be Barcelona star Alejandro Balde, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Spain international was omitted from Barcelona's LaLiga opener at the weekend, with manager Hansi Flick admitting that he did not choose Balde due to the ongoing transfer speculation.

Man Utd have enquired about the player, but Balde has not yet decided to leave Barcelona. It is thought that the Red Devils would be prepared to meet Barcelona's €45m asking price, but there are concerns over the player's high salary.

Amorim wants Nazraoui

AC Milan are considering a move for Man Utd full-back Noussair Mazraoui, CaughtOffside writes.

The Morocco international has switched agents this summer, hinting at a potential transfer away. He fielded interest from Juventus in January and is now being courted by Milan following the appointment of ex-Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.

Man Utd have not made a decision on Mazraoui's future at this stage, and it might be considered too late in the window to sanction an exit of a valued and versatile squad player. They are certainly under no pressure to cash in on him.
