Man Utd name Hall price

Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay up to €70 million to sign Newcastle United full-back Lewis Hall before the summer transfer window closes on 1 September.

The England defender has been earmarked as Man Utd’s primary left-back target ahead of the 2026-27 campaign and they are eager to bring him to Old Trafford as they look to secure the signing of a player capable of competing with Luke Shaw for a starting XI place.

However, Newcastle are reluctant to sanction a sale following the departures, and the imminent exit of Bruno Guimaraes, and rumours indicate that a hefty fee will be required to even tempt the Magpies into accepting a transfer.

Man Utd remain interested, despite Newcastle’s stance, and they are ready to pay €70m (£60m) to sign Hall this summer, according to talkSPORT. However, they aren’t prepared to exceed this figure and have now earmarked Fulham and USMNT star Antonee Robinson as a possible cheaper alternative.

Spence offered to Man Utd

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Djed Spence, although there is nothing suggesting they will move for the Tottenham star at this stage.

With a deal for Hall not considered likely, United are looking at other players who can feature at left-back and Ben Jacobs has claimed that Spence’s representatives have offered his services to United and Liverpool among other clubs.

“Djed Spence is a name on the player side that has been offered around,” Jacobs told The United Stand. “I’m not aware yet whether the club is interested in that deal but Spence wants to go somewhere and play week-in-week-out, whether it’s on the right or the left.

“His future will broadly be one to watch. United haven’t said at this point that they want Spence but the player’s side are offering him around Premier League clubs.”

Man Utd midfield update

United’s pursuit of a midfielder has taken a twist after Carlos Baleba suffered an ankle injury that will see the Brighton star endure a spell on the sidelines.

Baleba is understood to be one of United’s top targets as the club look to add a third midfielder to their ranks but the 23-year-old is a doubt for the start of the new season, although the issue is not thought to be long-term.

United have not decided on which midfielder they want to sign and they are thought to be patient about their choices, with the likes of Tyler Adams, Manu Kone and Sander Berge all being considered alongside Baleba.

Michael Carrick is understood to prefer a player with Premier League experience, while the club have not been overly convinced by any option on the table and they will not panic into making a move prematurely.

Orozco signing confirmed

Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Colombian youngster Cristian Orozco.

The 18-year-old joins from Colombian side Fortaleza where he played five times for their first team.

Orozco is set to feature in United’s academy as he settles into life in Manchester.

The deal had been agreed last year but it has now been formally confirmed after Orozco turned 18 last month.
