Lamine Camara price tag

Chelsea would need to pay around €60million (£51.3m) to lure Lamine Camara away from AS Monaco, according to reports in France.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins claims the Blues have communicated they would be willing to pay around €40m (£34.2m) for the 22-year-old, but their proposal has reportedly been knocked back by Monaco, who are keen to keep hold of the midfielder.

Camara is regarded as one of Chelsea’s top targets to replace Enzo Fernandez, who is wanted by Manchester City.

Emiliano Martinez deal announced

Chelsea officially confirmed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on Sunday morning, and he made his debut for the club against Brighton & Hove Albion just hours later.

The Argentina international has arrived for a fee worth just shy of €9m and he is set to be their number one goalkeeper until Mike Penders is ready to take over the reins.

Martinez conceded three goals on his Chelsea debut, although the Blues held on to secure a 4-3 victory.

Pedro Neto to Liverpool talks

Liverpool are in talks with Pedro Neto’s representatives as they look to sign a replacement for Cody Gakpo, FootballTransfers has been told.

The 26-year-old’s current contract at Chelsea runs until 2031, but the west London giants are open to negotiating a possible sale following the signings of Geovany Quenda, Morgan Rogers, Marco Palestra and Pep Chavarria so far this summer.

Neto was named on the substitutes bench for Chelsea’s opening fixture of the new Premier League campaign versus Fulham and their Carabao Cup win over Luton Town, however he started against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, and netted the Blues’ second goal in an exhilarating 4-3 victory.

We understand that Neto would be open to leaving Stamford Bridge if he receives an attractive proposal and Liverpool officials have contacted his agent to gauge the possibility of a deal amid their pursuit of a Gakpo replacement.

Sources have informed us that Chelsea will only consider a sale if they receive an offer of at least €88 million (£75m) and it remains to be seen if Liverpool are willing to match this asking price before the window closes.

Robert Sanchez to leave?

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has seemingly confirmed that Robert Sanchez will leave the club before the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.

The Spaniard has been Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper for the vast majority of his three-year spell at Stamford Bridge, but he made a major error during the Blues’ 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday and he has now been replaced by Emiliano Martinez.

The 33-year-old officially joined Chelsea on Sunday morning and he was subsequently named in the starting XI for their clash against Brighton & Hove Albion just hours later, with Mike Penders selected on the substitutes bench.

Sanchez, meanwhile, was omitted from the matchday squad entirely and it suggests that he has now dropped to third in the pecking order - with an exit before the window closes therefore highly likely.

Enzo Fernandez latest

Enzo Fernandez was also left out of Chelsea’s squad to face Brighton amid significant transfer interest from Manchester City.

When asked about his decision to exclude Fernandez from his matchday squad on Sunday, Xabi Alonso said: “We want the best for the team and that's why we made the decision against Luton and today and anything that happens before Tuesday evening, we need to be aware of what is going to develop.

“We are not sure, we are preparing for all the scenarios but I am sure that whatever happens from Wednesday we will have a good enough squad to compete in all the Premier League games.”
