Arsenal receive firm Victor Osimhen transfer message
Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek insists that Victor Osimhen will not be sold for any price this summer, amid rumoured interest from Arsenal.
It has been claimed that Osimhen’s name was mentioned in discussions between Arsenal and Galatasaray officials after the Turkish giants launched an approach to sign Gunners duo Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
The pair were both excluded from Arsenal’s matchday squad to face Manchester City in the Community Shield final, although it’s understood that neither player is likely to join Galatasaray before Transfer Deadline Day. Furthermore, FootballTransfers has been informed that Arsenal will not sign Osimhen either, with the club happy with their current striker options of Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
The reigning Premier League champions have missed out on top attacking targets Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior so far this summer, however we understand that a new attacker will not be pursued unless the aforementioned Martinelli departs on a permanent deal.
In addition to Arsenal, Osimhen has also been linked with a sensational move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal, but Ozbek has now ruled out a sale.
“I will not say ‘yes’ to any transaction that will harm Galatasaray or not benefit Galatasaray,” Ozbek told club insiders, as per Turkish outlet 343 Digital (via Football.London).
“What I said about Baris Alper Yilmaz, I am now saying even more strongly about Osimhen. No matter how much the price is, I am not selling Osimhen.”
What has Victor Osimhen said?
Meanwhile, Osimhen refused to comment on speculation linking him with a blockbuster move to Arsenal after netting a brace during Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw versus Corum FK on Saturday.
“There are always rumours in transfer seasons,” the 27-year-old told reporters. “I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further.”
Osimhen, who spent one season on loan at Galatasaray before joining them on a permanent deal last summer, has scored 61 goals in 75 games for the Istanbul giants, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at just over €60 million.
