Diego Simeone speaks out on Alvarez’s future

Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has spoken out regarding Julian Alvarez’s future at the club amid Arsenal’s interest in the forward, confirming the stance of his club.

“The club was very clear and concise in everything they explained and everything that's going to happen,” Atleti’s boss said.

“I remain in the same position, hoping that from a sporting perspective I can help him in the best way possible so that he continues to be the crucial player he is for us, and to focus on what matters most, which is Sevilla.

“Obviously, Julian won't be available tomorrow, and we have to compete against an opponent that has won two matches and has a lot of confidence, and we have to take the game to where we think we can hurt them.”

Rashford lined up as shock Martinelli replacement

Arsenal are ready to make a surprise loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to The Independent.

Should a move for Alvarez fail, the Gunners are lining up Rashford as a potential replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, who is expected to join Al-Hilal.

This comes despite widespread reports that United are ready to keep hold of the England winger, who enjoyed a fine World Cup.

Arsenal make move for Real Madrid starlet Endrick

Another attacking player is very much on the agenda for Mikel Arteta before the end of the transfer window, and Real Madrid’s Endrick is being studied as a possibility, according to TalkSport.

The Gunners are one of a number of Premier League clubs to have been in contact with the 20-year-old Brazilian’s camp and are said to have made fresh enquiries over the player – including an official approach.

Jose Mourinho has previously shut down the possibility of a deal, stating: “It’s already decided, I’m not going to loan him out or sell him, because I like working with this young player, who has talents that are very important for the games.”

Martinelli’s exit at ‘final stages’

Martinelli is close to leaving Arsenal on a permanent basis, with Nicolo Schira reporting that the deal is in its ‘final stages’.

The Brazilian winger is set to land aa €20m-per-year contract with the Saudi Pro League side and will cost a €60m transfer fee, which the Gunners are expected to reinvest in their squad as Arteta chases another wide attacker.

Schira says: “Final details need done, but all the parties involved in the deal are confident of it closing.”

Speaking on Thursday, Arteta said: “Those conversations go both ways. I'm satisfied with how those conversations went because I know what is in each other's hearts.

“The words that come through in those conversations make me really happy, but it's inevitable that at some point you need to have certain discussions and say certain things that are sometimes tough.”

Tyjon signed

Arsenal have finally completed the signing of Blackburn Rovers youngster Igor Tyjon.

The Gunners already attempted to acquire the young striker in the January transfer window, but they were unable to reach an agreement with Blackburn despite the teenager being very clear with his club that he would not sign a new contract.

Tyjon fielded interest from various suitors, including clubs from the continent who were ready to immediately hand him first-team opportunities, but he has now joined Arsenal's academy setup. It is believed that he cost around €1.8m guaranteed, with future add-ons and a sell-on clause.
