Man Utd Transfer News Today: Camavinga becomes focus of attention with bid prepared for midfielder
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Man Utd transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Eduardo Camavinga, Joshua Zirkzee and Tyler Adams.
Camavinga emerges as target
United are keen to add a third midfielder to their squad this summer after the signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos but they have found Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni to be too expensive so far.
Instead, United could be given the chance to sign Tchouameni’s teammate Camavinga, who has also been on the club’s radar, with Madrid keen to cash in on the 23-year-old in order to raise funds.
However, Camavinga has so far been reluctant to leave the Spanish giants and it remains to be seen whether United to look to make a move for him.
Juve make Zirkzee intentions clear
Juventus have registered an interest in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United this summer, ESPN claim.
Zirkzee is expected to leave Old Trafford after failing to become a first team regular since his arrival in 2024, although United would prefer to sell him permanently rather than entertain loan offers.
Juve are said to be exploring all possibilities and have not made a formal offer but United are aware of their interest, with a loan to buy deal not being ruled out.
Ajax are also thought to have enquired about Zirkzee as well as two Premier League clubs, while United could look to replace the Dutchman if he does leave.
Red Devils consider Adams bid
Man Utd are considering a bid for Bournemouth star Tyler Adams, talkSPORT report.
Adams has been a long-term target for United but the Red Devils have opted towards other options, however the 27-year-old is seen as a cheaper alternative to the club’s preferred targets.
Bournemouth have dismissed reports that they would be willing to let Adams leave for €40m but the Premier League side are open to his sale, with his current contract set to expire in 2028.
United have also shortlisted Fulham’s Sander Berge for a similar reason if they cannot sign someone such as Tchouameni, Camavinga or Roma’s Manu Kone.
United go from left wing to left back with transfer business
Man Utd could turn their focus from a left winger to a left-back after they sign another midfielder after the development of events during the transfer window.
A left-sided attacker was considered a top priority this summer but the failure to sell Marcus Rashford has seen United focus on signing a third midfielder after Manuel Ugarte’s long-term injury.
United have also signed 18-year-old Tynan Thompson from Tottenham for just under €5m this week and it is believed the winger could have a similar impact to Ayden Heaven in being a young player capable of pushing for a first team chance.
With United having ample depth out wide, The Athletic report that the club’s attention is focused at left-back instead, with Newcastle’s Lewis Hall among the targets.
