Germany sack Julian Nagelsmann

Germany suffered a humiliating World Cup round of 32 exit to Paraguay and they have now officially parted ways with Julian Nagelsmann.

“It's important to mention that the news is coming from Germany because it's over between Julian Nagelsmann and the Germany national team. The coach is out. Game over,” Romano said in his latest YouTube video.

“Unacceptable for Germany. The overall performances at this World Cup were simply not good enough. After the defeat against Paraguay, Nagelsmann went public and said, ‘I would like to stay. I would like to continue. I would like to build my own project over the next few years through the Nations League, the Euros and then we will see what happens after.’

“But the response from the federation has been completely different. Nagelsmann and Germany have parted ways with immediate effect. It's over.

“For Julian Nagelsmann, the timing is unlucky because let me tell you one thing. If Nagelsmann had been available on the managerial market before the World Cup, he would probably have had a job in the Premier League today. There were Premier League clubs who were really keen on him and considered him the ideal candidate for their vacancy.

“However, Nagelsmann was fully committed to the Germany national team and did not want to entertain any negotiations while preparing for the World Cup. Now the tournament is over and, just a few weeks later, Julian Nagelsmann is out.”

Romano continued: “What's going to happen with the Germany national team? Remember the name I gave you the day after Germany's elimination. I told you to keep a close eye on Jürgen Klopp because he would be open to returning to management and is tempted by the Germany national team role. Klopp would be open to that possibility.

“Now it's up to the federation to present their project and discuss it with Klopp. Of course, he is currently busy with the Red Bull Group, so they will need time to sort everything out if they decide to move forward. But Jürgen Klopp is the top target for the Germany national team job.

“This is a huge story to follow, not only for Germany but for football in general because having Jürgen Klopp back in management would be fantastic news. Klopp is one of the biggest coaching figures in world football. He is a fantastic character, a fantastic coach, always positive, always playing fantastic football and a serial winner. Having Klopp back would be fantastic.”

Manchester City close in on Jeremy Monga

Arsenal were expected to complete the signing of Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, but their proposed deal has been hijacked by Manchester City, who are now set to sign the England wonderkid.

“Manchester City are closing in on an agreement to sign Jeremy Monga from Leicester City,” Romano confirmed. “He is one of the most exciting young talents around and Man City are prepared to pay up to £10 million to beat Arsenal to his signature.

“Arsenal informed Leicester and the player's representatives last night that they would not proceed with a new offer. Monga is a talented winger with enormous potential. Arsenal were in very advanced talks and came very close to signing him, but the deal ultimately did not happen.

“Now Man City are expected to complete the signing of one of England's most promising young prospects. This move is all about development. Man City presented their long-term project to the player, his family and his representatives.

“Enzo Maresca has been heavily involved in this deal, explaining how he sees Jeremy Monga developing at Man City over the coming years. There are obviously important development steps ahead, but the club genuinely believe in the player. So Jeremy Monga to Man City is expected to be a 'here we go' very soon, perhaps even while you are watching this video.”

Bradley Barcola hints at transfer

PSG attacker Bradley Barcola has been heavily linked with a Premier League switch and he has hinted that a move could be on the cards.

Romano said: “Another very important story is coming from the France national team camp because Bradley Barcola spoke during a press conference.

“When he was asked about his future and what he plans to do during this summer's transfer window, Barcola replied that he is focused on the World Cup and does not know what will happen afterwards.

“Guys, let me tell you one thing. If a player wants to stay and is completely certain about staying, they simply tell the media, 'I'm staying. I'm staying at Paris Saint-Germain. We've won everything for two years in a row. There is no reason to leave.'

“Barcola didn't say that. That's because the information I have is different from what many others are reporting. I told you in April, then again in May, again in June and once more just two days ago that many people were saying Barcola was not leaving Paris Saint-Germain and was not for sale. My information has always been different. I have always felt there could be movement regarding Barcola.

“Now, seeing the player leave the door open to a different future is another important indication in this story.

“To sign Barcola, you still need a huge financial package. You still have to convince Paris Saint-Germain financially, but the player is open to leaving. That is the current reality.

“A new contract had already been discussed in the summer of 2025, but over the last 10 months there has been no agreement between Paris Saint-Germain, Barcola and his representatives. That means that if a major offer arrives, there could be movement. It still has to be a very significant proposal.”

Romano added: “Liverpool, for example, have Barcola at the top of their shortlist. I've been telling you this for months. Don't forget Barcola. Don't forget Barcola. Don't forget Barcola. Now we are here, with Barcola established as one of Liverpool's main targets.

“Everything depends on what Liverpool can do financially to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

“We also have to keep a close eye on Arsenal because many of you have asked whether Barcola could become a target for them. At the moment, Arsenal's number one target remains Morgan Rogers. If they can reach an agreement with Aston Villa, they will sign Morgan Rogers. If they cannot, then Barcola could become an option.

“Right now, though, I still believe Morgan Rogers is the leading candidate to become Mikel Arteta's new winger because Arsenal have recently made very good progress with the player.”

Tottenham interested in Cody Gakpo

Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo could be set to leave the club this summer and Tottenham Hotspur are firmly in the race to sign him.

“Keep an eye on Tottenham because they are interested in the player. As things stand at the beginning of July, Liverpool are not opening the door to an exit. They are not telling Gakpo that he can leave and they are not telling Tottenham that negotiations can begin. That is not happening right now.

“At the moment, the door remains closed from Liverpool's side. We will have to see what happens later in the summer if Tottenham decide to make a formal proposal. Right now, there is interest, but if an official bid arrives then we will see how the situation develops.

“So it is definitely one to watch, but nothing is guaranteed at this stage.”

Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid latest

Finally, Romano provided an update on Enzo Fernandez’s future amid significant interest from Real Madrid.

“It's important to mention the comments from Javier Pastore, the agent of Enzo Fernandez. Javier Pastore has spoken in several interviews about Enzo Fernandez and suggested there is a possibility that the player could explore a move away from Chelsea. He also mentioned interest from Real Madrid.

“However, from what I'm told, Real Madrid currently consider Enzo Fernández to be just one of five midfield options. That is the first point.

“The second point is that there have been zero contacts with Chelsea so far. Club-to-club discussions have not even started. So forget about any fast-track deal because negotiations between the clubs have not begun.

“The third point is that everything depends on departures. For Real Madrid to sign a new midfielder, whether it is Enzo or one of the other options they are considering, a player first has to leave.

“Let's see who that will be because Dani Ceballos has already left and Nico Paz has departed. But the key decision will involve players who remain part of the first-team rotation. Only after that will Real Madrid decide which midfielder they want to pursue.”
