Casado snubs Blues
Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado has turned down moves to Chelsea and Man City, TEAMtalk claims.
The 22-year-old is believed to be on the market this summer and keen to take the next step in his career after struggling for minutes last season. Casado is fielding strong Premier League interest, but he has made it clear to his suitors that he will only join a club that can guarantee him regular game time.
As a result, he has rebuffed approaches from Chelsea and Man City, while the prospect of joining Man Utd also does not particularly excite him despite their long-standing admiration.
Chelsea's goalkeeper search
Chelsea are looking for a new goalkeeper amid the imminent exits of Filip Jorgensen and Gabriel Slonina, the BBC reports.
Both shot-stoppers have requested to leave the club after struggling for minutes. Jorgensen wants to become Denmark's No.1 and needs to play, while Slonina has seen his hugely exciting career completely stagnate after joining the Blues.
Although Chelsea will welcome Mike Penders to Cobham after his Strasbourg loan, they will need to sign a new third-choice goalkeeper. As a result, they are scouring the market for potential options.
Schjelderup race heats up
Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup is a target for Chelsea this summer, as per A Bola.
The Norway international is coming off a strong World Cup and is looking to take the next step in his career. Benfica have offered him a new contract, but the 22-year-old has yet to respond because he is considering his options.
Several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, are monitoring his situation. However, Benfica will not sell for less than €40 million as they are in a strong negotiating position due to his €100m release clause.
Garnacho twist
AS Roma have held talks with the representatives of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, Corriere dello Sport has confirmed.
The Netherlands international has emerged as a credible option for the Serie A side ahead of their return to the Champions League, and his agents met with club officials on Wednesday after completing a deal with Lazio for Danilho Doekhi.
This is potentially bad news for Chelsea because Roma have also held talks over a deal for Alejandro Garnacho, whom the Blues are keen to see the back of this summer. So far, there has been no breakthrough in talks over a transfer for the Argentine.
Balogun's easy decision
Chelsea are among the clubs interested in AS Monaco forward Folarin Balogun.
The 25-year-old is coming off a tumultuous World Cup with the United States and is facing an uncertain future at Monaco, with the club believed to be willing to listen to offers.
Chelsea have been named as a potential destination for the striker, but data from analytics firm SciSports suggests that he would be better off steering clear of the Stamford Bridge club, as he did in 2023 when he left Arsenal.
