Chelsea receive official Jarrod Bowen transfer message
Danny Dyer has confirmed that West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen is currently set to remain at the club this summer, despite their relegation from the Premier League.
The England forward, who was omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad, has been heavily linked with a summer transfer in recent months, but he is now expected to stay at the London Stadium in the Championship.
Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpool are all known admirers of Bowen, however rumours of a summer switch have died down over the past few weeks and with the Championship season set to start in less than one month, it seems as though the 29-year-old is running out of time to leave West Ham.
In fact, Dyer, who is Bowen’s father-in-law, has admitted that he is unlikely to leave West Ham this summer.
“He's a very great, loyal man,” Dyer told talkSPORT when asked about Bowen’s future at West Ham.
“First and foremost, he is my family, the father of my grandchildren, of course. It's been tough for him. He does deserve Champions League football and whatever decision he makes, or made, I would have supported him.
“I don't think he's going anywhere, and I think he will rip up the Championship, don't you worry yourself about that.”
Bowen scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances for West Ham last season, and with his current contract not due to expire until 2030, he looks destined to remain at the club as they look to secure an immediate promotion back to the English top flight.
Jarrod Bowen unlikely to join Chelsea
With Bowen set to stay at West Ham instead of completing a summer move to Chelsea, the Blues will be required to sign an alternative target amid their pursuit of a new attacker before the start of next season.
Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers is considered to be their top target, but Arsenal are currently the frontrunners to secure his signature and his price tag is regarded as too steep by the Chelsea hierarchy.
Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi has also been linked with a Stamford Bridge switch, however he is wanted by a plethora of top clubs across Europe and there is little indication that a sale will be permitted before Deadline Day.
Meanwhile, a move for Bradley Barcola seems unlikely, despite the fact that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign both Yan Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche this summer.
