Real Madrid looking to keep hold of Vinicius Junior

Arsenal have been handed a devastating blow to their transfer plans after a report from Sky Sports claiming that Real Madrid have no intention of selling Vinicius Junior this summer.

Vini Jr has emerged as Arsenal’s top target in attack amid a standoff with Real Madrid over his contract, which is due to expire next summer, however the Spanish giants are said to be ‘confident’ that a new deal will be agreed.

Arsenal are still monitoring the situation but further talks are expected this week between Vinicius and Madrid with the intention of making progress on signing a new long-term contract with Los Blancos.

Previous reports had claimed that Arsenal were willing to make Vini their highest-paid player ever but Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is keen to keep hold of the Brazilian even with the anticipated arrival of Yan Diomande in attack.

Gunners in ‘advanced talks’ for Guimaraes

Arsenal are reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ with Newcastle to sign Bruno Guimaraes after allegedly reaching a ‘verbal agreement’ to sign the midfielder.

Guimaraes is understood to be keen on joining the Premier League champions this summer, with sources telling FootballTransfers that a deal is close, and talkSPORT claim that progress has been made over a verbal agreement worth ‘north of £75m (€87.7m)’, with personal terms already in place.

Newcastle sources have continued to deny the reports of any talks whatsoever and remain adamant that formal contact has not been made by Arsenal during the entire saga, with the Magpies still unwilling to sell their club captain.

Guimaraes is due to report to pre-season training with Newcastle on Friday and the 28-year-old is thought to have insisted that his future be resolved one way or another before his return.

Arsenal in talks over Vieira sale

Arsenal are demanding €18 million from Hamburg to permanently sign Fabio Vieira this summer after the midfielder’s loan spell with the German side.

Vieira is thought to be keen on joining HSV and Sky Sport Germany report that a permanent transfer is currently being negotiated.

However, a deal would require HSV to break their transfer record if they are to meet Arsenal’s €18m asking price but the Bundesliga outfit are currently thought to be offering below €10m.

Vieira’s contract with Arsenal is due to expire next summer, which is why Hamburg believe they can agree a lower fee towards the end of the transfer window.

Tomiyasu training with Premier League club

Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is training with Crystal Palace this summer with a view towards a possible move.

Tomiyasu is a free agent after his short-term deal with Ajax expired and the Japanese international could feature for Palace in a friendly this week.

The 27-year-old has attracted interest from multiple teams across Europe and England but The Athletic report that he is keen on a return to the Premier League.

Tomiyasu left Arsenal in July 2025 by mutual agreement after a succession of knee injuries which had prevented him from playing since 2024 but the defender is keen to prove his fitness with Palace.
