Alonso's untouchables

Incoming Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has classified seven current players as "untouchables," according to The Athletic.

These seven stars are not for sale at any price this summer, with the Spaniard keen to build his team around them. The players in question are Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Josh Acheampong, Joao Pedro, Levi Colwill, Estevao and Cole Palmer.

Interestingly, Alonso's list of untouchables does not include Enzo Fernandez or Marc Cucurella, both of whom have publicly flirted with transfers. Chelsea will sell them if they receive suitable offers.

Olise departs

Chelsea have announced that Richard Olise, brother of France superstar Michael, will depart the club when his contract expires.

The youngster spent a decade in West London, but like his brother, he has now failed to make the grade at Chelsea. Michael previously spent seven years in the Blues academy before joining Man City and then Reading, where he achieved his senior breakthrough.

Olise is one of four young players to depart Chelsea this summer. Brodi Hughes leaves after 13 years, Sam Rak-Sakyi, who has made four first-team appearances, also exits, as does Finnish youth international Jimi Tauriainen.

Rogers opens up on speculation

Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers has addressed the speculation surrounding his future.

The England star has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Villa, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd all believed to be among his suitors. Rogers is a close friend of Blues star Cole Palmer.

Speaking on The Rest is Football, Rogers says that he no longer lets the rumours affect him. “You hear it of course you do, you can't help not," he admitted. "You know it is there but you have got to use it in a positive way. You just try and get on with your game and just focus."

Jackson's disciplinary issues continue

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson was sent off in a pre-World Cup friendly between Senegal and Saudi Arabia after coming on as a substitute.

The 24-year-old has a history of ill discipline, and this latest sending off will not have boosted his chances of being welcomed back by Chelsea after his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

Incoming manager Xabi Alonso has been receptive to giving the Senegal forward a second chance, but with competition for places as fierce as ever, his disciplinary problems could see him banished from Stamford Bridge for good.
