Cucurella pushing for Fernandez deal

Having now officially left Chelsea, Cucurella clearly feels under no obligation to hold his tongue when it comes to discussing potential transfer business. Speaking to Radio MARCA, the 27-year-old has openly called for Real Madrid to sign Fernandez.

"He's a great player and a friend of mine," Cucurella said of the Argentina international. "He congratulated me on the signing. I hope it [a transfer] happens. I would be very happy.

He added: "We were very happy at Chelsea, and to have the opportunity to both sign for Real Madrid in the same summer - I hope he's lucky and becomes a Real Madrid player."

Exclusive: Hasselbaink backs Jackson stay

Ex-Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told his former club to reintegrate Nicolas Jackson back into the first-team fold following his loan spell at Bayern Munich last season.

"I’ve always liked him,” Hasselbaink told FootballTransfers on behalf of 10bet, who offer football betting. “I actually didn’t like him going to Bayern Munich when he left us in the first place.

“I’ve always said that he brings real energy to the team - he brings pressing, and he creates goals. Yes, he does miss a lot of chances, but he gets into those positions to miss them, and I think Chelsea could always use that profile.

“I wouldn’t mind at all if he comes back into the fold. I think Chelsea can really use him across different positions - as a central striker, but also coming inside from the left. If they can’t find another elite striker to strengthen the squad, then for me, I’d be more than happy for Jackson to stay and play a big part.”

Chelsea to allow Chalobah exit

Chelsea will allow Trevoh Chalobah to leave the club this summer amid interest from Serie A side Como, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.

Como boss Cesc Fabregas has earmarked Chalobah as a top target ahead of their first ever Champions League campaign next year and he is keen to raid his former club for the England defender when the Serie A transfer window opens later this month.

That is according to Romano, who posted on X: “Trevoh Chalobah can leave Chelsea this summer and Como send initial official bid for the centre back.

“Understand Inter have also looked at Chalobah among centre back options. English CB focused on World Cup but UCL clubs keen.”

Romano details Lacroix interest

Fabrizio Romano has expanded on Chelsea’s interest in Maxence Lacroix, with a deal in progress for the Crystal Palace defender.

“One of the names under serious consideration is Maxence Lacroix,” Romano said. “Chelsea have already started contacts on the player's side and are gathering information regarding the conditions of a potential deal.

“At this stage the transfer is not completed, nor is it at the final stages, but Chelsea are actively working on the possibility.

“The club view Lacroix as an excellent profile because of his age, technical qualities, potential, Premier League experience and international pedigree. His involvement with the French national team further highlights the level at which he is regarded.

“Chelsea appreciate Maxence Lacroix, but he is not the only defender being considered because the club could pursue two centre-backs if departures take place.”

Speaking on behalf of 10bet, who offer football betting, Hasselbaink told FootballTransfers: “I think Enzo is easier to replace than Marc Cucurella. Don’t get me wrong, Enzo has done exceptionally well this year in what has been a very difficult season for Chelsea. He’s been very, very good. But I think you can replace a midfielder easier.

“In world football right now, there are so many really good midfielders, and Chelsea is still a very attractive club to play for - it’s still a massive club. So I wouldn’t worry too much about Enzo leaving, really.

“Don’t get me wrong, he’s a very good player. But I think you can easily replace him if you need to.”
