Man Utd unlock Fernandez saga

Man Utd could inadvertently help Chelsea sell Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid by signing Aurelien Tchouameni, according to The Athletic.

Los Blancos are expected to make a strong push for the Argentina international, who is desperate for the move and has become the club's top target. However, it is believed that Real Madrid will have to make a midfield sale before they sign Fernandez.

Eduardo Camavinga would be the preferred option to leave, but he does not want to depart, which has consequently forced the club to consider offers for Tchouameni, who has been described as Man Utd's "dream" midfield target this summer.

Record fee demanded for Gusto

Chelsea would only consider a sale of Malo Gusto if a world-record fee were to be offered, as per the BBC.

The France international is believed to be pondering his future at Stamford Bridge, and he has been linked with Man City, who will appoint former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca as their new manager.

However, it is claimed that the Blues would only be prepared to talk business for a fee north of €80m, which would make Gusto the most expensive full-back of all time by some distance. City are unlikely to pay that as he is not a leading target for them.

Gudmundsson an option?

Chelsea are considering a move for Leeds left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, Expressen claims.

The Sweden international has emerged on the Blues' radar as new manager Xabi Alonso wants to sign a replacement for Marc Cucurella after his move to Real Madrid. Gudmundsson is capable of playing as a traditional full-back and as a wing-back, which makes him attractive to Alonso.

The 27-year-old is one of several options currently under consideration, so there is no guarantee that a move materialises. However, Leeds are said to be prepared to sell him for the right price.

Palestra deal done

Chelsea have signed Atalanta full-back Marco Palestra after hijacking his move to Inter.

The 21-year-old reigning Serie A Defender of the Year was expected to return to his hometown of Milan, but Inter were unable to match Atalanta's asking price, which allowed Chelsea to swoop in.

The Stamford Bridge club acted fast and agreed a deal worth north of €55m for Palestra. It is also believed that they have offered the youngster a significantly higher wage in order to get him to move to England. Reports in Italy claimed last week that he had rejected Chelsea because he only wanted to join Inter.

Ramon boost?

Chelsea are in a "strong position" to sign Como defender Jacobo Ramon, TEAMtalk writes.

The Blues have "stepped up their pursuit" of the Spanish centre-back, whose future is expected to be decided this week. Real Madrid have a buy-back option, but it is not clear if they will utilise it.

They will meet with Como on Thursday to discuss the futures of Nico Paz and Ramon. Chelsea have "positioned themselves" to sign Ramon if Real Madrid decide against bringing him back.
