Cucurella deal official

Real Madrid have announced the signing of Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.

The Spain international has completed a shock €60 million transfer to the white half of Madrid, despite being heavily linked with city rivals Atletico Madrid in recent weeks. Real Madrid moved quickly and wrapped up the deal in just 24 hours.

Cucurella was keen to return to Spain for personal reasons, though it is believed that Chelsea's failure to qualify for European competition also heavily influenced his decision to request a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.

Cambiaso to replace Cucurella

One potential replacement for Cucurella could be Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso.

Reports in Italy suggest that Chelsea are keen on the Italy international, who can feature on both sides of the backline. The versatile defender has also been associated with Man City and Barcelona.

The data suggests that Cambiaso could be an upgrade on Cucurella, particularly if incoming manager Xabi Alonso plans to implement a system that utilises wing-backs. At an expected cost of around €50m, a move appears to be a no-brainer for Chelsea.

Chelsea barge into Bouaddi race

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi, as per talkSPORT.

The 18-year-old wonderkid has been heavily linked with Arsenal, with recent reports suggesting that there was growing confidence in North London over a potential €70m deal. The Gunners have supposedly been speaking to Bouaddi since January 2025.

However, Chelsea and various other clubs are now also being associated with a move for the Morocco sensation after his impressive outing against Brazil on his World Cup debut. The report adds that Bouaddi may even be available for just €60m.

Van Hecke delays decision

Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke insists that there will be "clarity" on his future after the World Cup.

The Netherlands international is the subject of interest from Chelsea and Tottenham, with the latter believed to be in advanced talks over a deal. Van Hecke is reportedly keen to reunite with Roberto de Zerbi.

However, Spurs are still looking for a final breakthrough, with the two clubs apart on the player's valuation. Brighton reportedly want around €80m for the centre-back. CEO Paul Barber has confirmed that two bids have been rejected for Van Hecke.
