Arsenal Transfer News Today: €70m fee required as clear Julian Alvarez message received
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Julian Alvarez, Alex Scott and Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Clear Alvarez message
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez rebuffed Arsenal's approach as he only wants to join Barcelona, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Argentina international went public with his desire to leave Atletico Madrid on Monday. Alvarez is understood to be determined to join Barcelona, though Arsenal and PSG have also shown an interest. He made it clear to both clubs that he has his heart set on moving to Catalunya.
“PSG tried to enter the Julian Alvarez story, and he said, ‘Thanks, but I want to go to Barcelona,’ Romano explained. "Arsenal also tried to make an approach to Atletico Madrid and Alvarez’s camp to understand the situation, but the answer was exactly the same.”
Scott to cost €70m
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is expected to cost around €70 million if he is to move this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Arsenal are among the Premier League giants to have enquired about his services as they look to bolster their midfield. Bournemouth would prefer to keep the 22-year-old and hand him a new contract.
However, the Cherries are ultimately a selling club, and a €70m offer could test their resolve. This could represent something of a bargain fee as Bournemouth are reportedly planning to hand Scott a release clause worth more than €80m if he were to agree to a new contract.
Bouaddi boost
Despite strong links in recent days, Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi is not a priority for Real Madrid, The Athletic reports.
The Morocco international is expected to be on the move this summer, which has attracted widespread attention. Arsenal have reportedly been in contact with his entourage since January 2025.
The news of Real Madrid's stance will be a major boost for the Gunners, who are believed to be leading the chase for the 18-year-old. However, Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG are also keen on Bouaddi.
