The likes of Ben White, Christian Norgaard, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri have all been linked with permanent exits, while FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are keen to sign a new full-back, a new central midfielder and a new forward before the end of Deadline Day on 1 September.

We have been informed that a deal for Aston Villa attacker Rogers is currently being explored by the Emirates Stadium hierarchy, although he is also wanted by Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, which has complicated their pursuit of his signature.

It’s understood that Rogers is open to joining the north London giants this summer, but Arsenal have now earmarked Gibbs-White as a possible alternative in the event that a deal for the Villa man can’t be finalised.

That is according to The Sun, who report that Arsenal have added Gibbs-White to their list of summer targets following his eye-catching end to the 2025-26 season.

The 26-year-old scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 53 matches last term, including 15 goal contributions in 18 Premier League appearances in 2026, but he was still excluded from England’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, with Rogers selected ahead of him by Thomas Tuchel.

Gibbs-White was expected to join Arsenal’s arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but the proposed deal was blocked by Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and the Englishman eventually signed a new contract valid until 2028.

However, a move away from the City Ground could take place this summer, with Arsenal reportedly ready to battle for his signature, despite the fact he is likely to cost around €100 million.

Analysis: Morgan Gibbs-White to Arsenal?

Arsenal completed the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace last summer and their interest in both Rogers and Gibbs-White is therefore slightly surprising given all three players are best in a No.10 role and can play as a left winger.

But, Gibbs-White is in the form of his life and he would undoubtedly provide Arteta with additional attacking flair, which is something Arsenal were missing during the latter stages of the 2025-26 campaign.

However, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €63m and with Forest widely expected to demand a far higher fee, Arsenal should be wary of paying over-the-odds for his signature, especially as his reputation is at an all-time high.
