Chelsea identify new €80m summer transfer priority
Chelsea will reportedly look to sell summer signings Liam Delap and Alejandro Garnacho after just one season at the club.
The duo both arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2025, but they have failed to impress since moving to west London and they have already been tipped to depart the Blues after underwhelming debut campaigns.
Delap has only scored two goals in 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season and he is firmly behind fellow new signing Joao Pedro in the pecking order as things stand.
Meanwhile, Garnacho has also struggled to adapt since his move from Manchester United and he has only played 131 Premier League minutes from a possible 720 since the beginning of 2023.
As a result, Chelsea have decided to listen to offers for the pair this summer, as per a report from Fichajes.
They arrived at the club for a combined price of just over €80 million and it’s understood that Liam Rosenior’s side are aiming to recoup as much of that investment as possible this summer.
Chelsea to sell Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap?
Chelsea are keen to free up space in their first-team squad for new signings and they have reportedly placed Delap and Garnacho on the market as they look to offload both players.
Deals have already been finalised for Emmanuel Emegha (Strasbourg), Dastan Satpaev (Kairat Almaty) and Geovany Quenda (Sporting CP) to join the Blues this summer, while the club remain eager to land additional attacking reinforcements to bolster the options available to Rosenior.
Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo continues to be linked with a sensational move to Stamford Bridge, and the club have also been tipped to rival Arsenal and Barcelona for the signing of Julian Alvarez amid rumours that he could push to leave Atletico Madrid ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Chelsea are also keen to sign a new central defender and a new central midfielder, and they have reportedly identified Delap and Garnacho as two means of generating additional transfer funds.
