Man Utd receive Sandro Tonali transfer verdict
Newcastle United will demand a fee of at least €92 million (£80m) for Sandro Tonali this summer amid growing transfer interest in the Italy midfielder.
The 25-year-old was linked with a bombshell move to Arsenal on Transfer Deadline Day and although advanced talks didn’t take place, FootballTransfers understands that Tonali is keen on completing a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
We have been informed that Mikel Arteta’s side are ready to pursue a deal for the former AC Milan superstar when the 2025-26 season draws to a close, but they will face significant competition for his signature.
Chelsea, Manchester City and several clubs in Serie A are believed to be keeping close tabs on Tonali’s situation at Newcastle, while Manchester United have now officially joined the race for his signature as they search for a suitable replacement for the departing Casemiro.
Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba have been touted as the Red Devils’ top three midfield targets, but they have also expressed their interest in Tonali, who is expected to be at the heart of a transfer tug-of-war this summer.
Newcastle set Sandro Tonali asking price
In response to growing interest in one of their prized assets, Newcastle have set their asking price for Tonali at between €92m and €115m (£80m-100m), as per a report from talkSPORT.
Eddie Howe’s side are reluctant to sanction a departure, however they could be forced to consider a sale if they receive a suitable offer and Man Utd are ready to enter the battle for the Italy international.
The Red Devils’ interest comes after Tonali’s agent, Guiseppe Riso, hinted that a transfer could be on the cards this summer.
Speaking to Italian publication Tuttosport last week, he admitted: “Newcastle are having a hard time letting go of Sandro, and he wants to lead the club to the Champions League.
“We’ll evaluate and decide what to do in the summer. These transfer discussions will take place later. We’ll see how the season ends and then we’ll decide what to do.
“There’s no preference. It’s still early. What we’re saying today won’t apply tomorrow. Newcastle couldn’t let him go now, and there’s no point moving, especially since Sandro is very attached to the club.”
