Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent shocks Man City with transfer admission
Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma would jump at the chance to return to Serie A, according to his agent Enzo Raiola.
The Italy international joined the Cityzens after a contract dispute with PSG in the summer and immediately supplanted fellow recruit James Trafford as the No.1 at the Etihad.
Donnarumma's time at Man City has so far been exactly what most people expected. He has been a great shot-stopper, but he still looks awkward in possession and has made a couple of mistakes.
He pulled off some remarkable saves in Man City's chastening derby defeat to Man Utd on Saturday, and does not appear to have had any problems settling in England.
It is, therefore, all the more surprising that his representative, Enzo Raiola, has now talked up a potential departure from Man City, just a few months after the 26-year-old arrived in the Premier League.
Raiola: Donnarumma wants to return to Italy
Speaking to Rai Sport, the agent claimed that Donnarumma would love to return to Serie A, although he did acknowledge that he is content at Man City for the time being.
"Today, at Manchester City, he's finding serenity with the team and the environment, and he finds the project very interesting," Raiola began. "He's also starting to understand the English league.
"The other day he told me that playing there for five or six years would be an adventure - but it was a joke. If the opportunity to return to Italy arises, we will seize it.
"Already in the summer, some clubs had shown interest when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain was expiring. Then, Manchester City came along."
Donnarumma began his career at AC Milan, but his time at the club ended in acrimony when he decided to join PSG on a free transfer in 2021. Already several years earlier, he had initially announced that he would leave the Rossoneri on a Bosman, only to make a last-minute U-turn.
His antics earned him the nickname "Dollarumma" and tarnished his reputation in the eyes of Milan fans. Hated rivals Inter were reportedly among the clubs keen on the 26-year-old last summer.
