Liverpool have reportedly submitted a €100 million offer for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as they look to bolster the first-team squad available to Arne Slot.

The Reds have endured an underwhelming 2025-26 campaign so far and a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday evening has raised fresh questions over Slot’s long-term future at Anfield.

The Dutchman has been heavily linked with the sack in recent weeks and the availability of Xabi Alonso, who left Real Madrid earlier this month, has increased pressure on the former Feyenoord boss.

Liverpool spent a whopping €482.9 million on new signings last summer, but their investment hasn’t yielded the results that were expected and they are currently 14 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, having played one game extra.

However, the Reds hierarchy are ready to dip back into the transfer market for reinforcements and they have lodged a €100m bid for Tchouameni, as per a report from Spanish publication Fichajes.

Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly made a move for the France international, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Real Madrid, although a move to Thomas Frank’s side seems highly unlikely following their signing of Conor Gallagher.

Aurelien Tchouameni set to stay at Real Madrid

Tchouameni has been an integral member of Real Madrid’s starting XI since his arrival from AS Monaco in 2022, but rumours of an exit have surfaced in recent months and it appears as though his future at the club is far from guaranteed this year.

However, Real Madrid aren’t considering a sale as things stand and the 25-year-old is therefore expected to stay at the Bernabeu despite growing interest from the Premier League.

His Los Blancos team-mates Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz could be set to leave the club this year, however, with the duo set to be pushed down the pecking order when Alvaro Arbeloa’s side opt to bring Nico Paz back from a two-year stint at Como.
