Semenyo has a release fee that expires on 10 January. With this worth €75 million (£65m), it prompted a flurry of interest from many top Premier League sides. City appear to have won the race for the winger.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola confirmed that he expects the Ghana international to be available to face Tottenham on 7 January.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Bournemouth lost 3-2 at home to Arsenal, he said: “Yes, I expect that. The situation hasn’t changed. I expect him to play against Spurs.

"There is a lot of noise around him but this is the situation."

Iraola confirms exclusive information

Iraola’s statement corroborates The Transfers’ Podcast’s information, with transfer expert Duncan Castles revealing during the latest edition that Bournemouth expected the player to be available for the Spurs match.

Castles revealed: “I understand that Bournemouth expect to keep the player for the next two games. The clause is valid for the first 10 days of January only, and they’re running it to the end of the clause before allowing him to go to another club.”

Semenyo tipped to make huge impact at Man City

Sky Sports expert Jamie Redknapp hailed Semenyo on ‘Saturday Night Football’, branding the 25-year-old as “the ultimate modern-day player”.

The former England midfielder said: “Man City are getting a top-quality human being. Everyone who meets him says what a great personality he is around the dressing room.

“He’s two-footed, you don’t know what foot he is, he can clip balls in with his left foot, he can whip them in with his right. He can score goals, and in the modern game with set-pieces, long throws, he’s just the ultimate modern-day player.

“He’s a fantastic signing. And with the release clause, if they decide that’s what he wants to do, I’ve no doubt he’ll do well there.

“It’s a huge club for him; every club wants him. Liverpool might have been an option, with Salah and his situation I thought that might be where he went but it looks more and more like he will go to Man City,

“That is probably the more difficult one for him – the opposition, the players they’ve got there. It won’t be as easy as some other clubs.”
