Atleti agree Alvarez sale - but there's a problem

Atletico Madrid have agreed to sell Julian Alvarez to a foreign club, Mundo Deportivo claims.

The Argentina international is looking to leave the club and has been pushing for a move to Barcelona. However, Atleti have been very clear with both the striker and the Catalan club that he will not be sold to a domestic rival.

Arsenal have also enquired about Alvarez, and they have now been told that Atleti would be willing to consider offers from the Premier League champions. However, Alvarez is understood to have no intention of returning to England.

Konsa signing done

Arsenal have completed the €60 million signing of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to The Athletic.

After some back-and-forth with a Villa side reticent to lose a key defender, Arsenal struck a deal earlier this week. The player completed his medical on Thursday and has now finalised all the necessary paperwork.

Konsa was Mikel Arteta's primary defensive target amid the ongoing injury struggles of William Saliba and Jurrien Timber. The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the option for a further season.

Osimhen salary a deal-breaker

Arsenal are interested in Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, but they have no intention of matching his salary, as per Foot Mercato.

The Nigeria international is being considered as an alternative to Julian Alvarez, but a transfer appears to be a longshot at this stage. Galatasaray have publicly said that they do not want to lose the striker.

Arsenal would surely have to pay well in excess of the €75m Galatasaray shelled out to sign Osimhen last year. Moreover, the 27-year-old is currently on a net salary worth up to €20m annually, which is a figure the Gunners deem wildly excessive.

New Kvaratskhelia eyed

Arsenal are interested in Kolkheti winger Andria Bartishvili, the BBC reports.

The 17-year-old is coming towards the end of his contract, which has attracted the attention of Arsenal. Bartishvili has been likened to PSG superstar and compatriot Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Arsenal's interest has "accelerated" recently, while Liverpool and Juventus are also believed to be in the mix to sign the wonderkid. Maurizio Micheli, the former Napoli chief scout who discovered Kvaratskhelia, is now Andrea Berta's assistant at Arsenal and is driving the interest.

Igor Tyjon deal agreed

Arsenal have finally struck an agreement with Blackburn Rovers to sign academy striker Igor Tyjon following months of negotiations.

The Gunners have been in talks to sign the 18-year-old for several consecutive transfer windows and he is eager to complete the move, having already rejected the opportunity to sign a professional contract at Ewood Park.

Blackburn extended his scholarship deal into a third year earlier this summer, but The Athletic confirm that Arsenal have now reached a full agreement to bring the England youth international to north London.

Tyjon, who has three first-team appearances for Blackburn and scored 13 goals in 33 matches for their U21 side, will undergo his medical at the Emirates Stadium on Friday, before officially joining the reigning Premier League champions on a long-term contract.
