Manchester United and Bournemouth are interested in breakout Sassuolo star Tarik Muharemovic, according to Italian media.

The 22-year-old joined the promoted Serie A outfit for €3 million from Juventus in the summer and, like many of his teammates, has been a revelation this season.

Although Sassuolo are winless in four, they are on course to comfortably stay up under manager Fabio Grosso, with the side currently sitting in an impressive ninth place in the Serie A table.

On Sunday, Sassuolo held reigning Coppa Italia winners Bologna to a 1-1 draw, thanks to Muharemovic's second goal of the season. The centre-back headed in a corner to claim a point for his side.

According to local outlet Gazzetta di Modena, Man Utd scouts were in attendance to witness the Bosnia and Herzegovina international's goal. The defender is increasingly attracting Premier League attention.

Man Utd face Bournemouth battle for Muharemovic

The Italian publication writes that it is not at all surprising that the 23-year-old is being closely monitored by Premier League suitors because he would be ideally suited to the English game.

“What catches the eye is his personality, which is not at all common for a player of his age, and which, combined with his technical ability and his physicality, makes him the perfect prototype of a central defender for the dynamic and daring football that characterises the English league.”

However, Man Utd could face a tough battle if they were to decide to pursue a deal for the left-footer. According to Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth are also interested in Muharemovic as they have already resigned themselves to losing Marco Senesi on a free transfer in 2026.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the Serie A starlet also has domestic admirers. In addition to Inter, Juventus are showing an interest in re-signing him.

The Bianconeri are owed 50 per cent of his next transfer fee, so Sassuolo may be inclined to simply sell him back to Turin to avoid having to surrender half of their financial windfall.
