Man Utd have been considered to be the frontrunners for Anderson’s signature for several months, with the Red Devils eager to finalise a deal for the 23-year-old as they look to bolster the midfield options available to Ruben Amorim.

However, Chelsea are also known admirers of the ex-Newcastle United star, while Man City are firmly in the race to sign him too.

In fact, TEAMtalk claim that Pep Guardiola’s side are confident of acquiring Anderson next year as they continue their pursuit of an additional central midfielder amid concerns over Rodri’s long-term future at the club.

The eight-time Premier League champions are closing in on a January deal for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who was previously tipped to join Man Utd, and they are also eager to reach an agreement to bring Anderson to the Etihad Stadium next year.

Nottingham Forest have no intention of allowing the England international to leave the club during the upcoming winter transfer window, however it’s reported that a transfer may be possible next summer if a suitable offer is lodged.

Man City target Elliot Anderson deal

It has been suggested that Forest may demand a fee in excess of €120 million to sanction a sale of Anderson in 2026, although his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at just €58.6m.

In addition to Anderson and Semenyo, TEAMtalk report that Man City will also target a new centre-back and a new full-back next year as they look to further improve the squad at Guardiola’s disposal.

Newcastle United star Valentino Livramento has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium to fill the latter role, while Man City are among several clubs interested in signing Atalanta central defender Honest Ahanor.
