Manchester United have 'discussed' a potential deal for Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams, according to a report.

The Red Devils are in the market for midfield reinforcements and will likely bring in two, potentially even three new signings for the engine room in 2026, depending on opportunities and outgoings.

Man Utd's priority targets for the midfield are well known: Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson top the shortlist of Ruben Amorim and Jason Wilcox.

However, more names are under consideration, given that their top targets won't come cheap, although Anderson reportedly has a 'complicated' contract that could enable him to move for a fairly affordable price in the summer.

Wolves star Joao Gomes is one name that has been explored at Old Trafford, but the chances of a January move look slim. Conor Gallagher at Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, could be more attainable as he wants to return to the Premier League.

Man Utd mulling over Adams deal

According to the Daily Mail, Man Utd chiefs have also 'discussed' Bournemouth star Tyler Adams during their recruitment meetings. The USMNT star has been an underrated part of the Cherries' success since joining from Leeds in 2023.

On the face of it, the 26-year-old would be a shock signing, but it is worth mentioning that Man Utd are long-term admirers of Adams. There were already tentative links with him before he moved to Bournemouth.

The report does not provide much information on the interest in Adams, and it seems that a January move is unlikely. Nevertheless, he appears to be one more name that can be considered on Amorim's radar heading into 2026.

During a recent podcast appearance, Tim Bezbatchenko, the president of the Black Knight Football Club network, described compatriot Adams as one of his favourite players in Bournemouth's multi-club system.

Prior to Bournemouth's clash with Chelsea on Saturday, which he missed through yellow card accumulation, Adams had started every single one of the Cherries' Premier League games.
