Chelsea in transfer boost as star’s wife demands move

Chelsea have been given an unexpected hand in landing one of their big transfer targets thanks to the star’s wife, who has demanded a change of scene.

Enzo Maresca’s side are one of a number of clubs who have been following Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi.

The forward has struggled to earn game time this season under Niko Kovac and his relationship with the coach has grown strained.

Now the Germany international is being pressurised by his partner to leave Dortmund, according to Bild.

Loredana Zefi, a Swiss rapper of Kosovar origin, has told Adeyemi that she wants to move to one of Europe’s great capital cities – narrowing down his list of potential destinations significantly.

The 23-year-old, meanwhile, has been courted by a string of top clubs. If he follows his partner’s wishes, though, the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona can forget about landing him.

Instead, Arsenal will come into greater focus as a potential rival for Chelsea in the race to sign the attacker, who has a release clause worth around €60 million.

Adeyemi will only consider the move in the summer, Bild reports. The fact that he recently switched agent to Jorge Mendes suggests he is seriously considering a change of scene, and with a contract that runs until 2027, a decision will have to be made imminently.

Dortmund still hope to keep him at the club, but his relationship with Kovac is such that it will be difficult persuading him to sign.

Adeyemi’s girlfriend Loredana Zefi is a successful 30-year-old rapper in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

She posts more than 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while she picked up the ‘Best Swiss Act’ in 2019 and 2020 at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Her best-known song is ‘Kein Plan’, which has more than 105 million views on YouTube.
